Renewal Ministries

No matter what you do, where you are, or what stage of life you’re in, God’s people are called to embody the values of God’s Kingdom by serving the common good.

Our mission is to glorify God in everyday life by reflecting His goodness and grace in all we do. Scripture calls us to remember the poor (Galatians 2:10) and to love sacrificially by caring for those in need (1 John 3:16–17).

Led by the Holy Spirit, we serve both individually and together as a community, seeking to be a redemptive presence in our city. We partner with local ministries to see and honor the vulnerable as image bearers of Christ, prayerfully walking alongside individuals and families—connecting them to resources, meeting tangible needs when possible, and sharing the love of Christ in all we do.

City Renewal

Poverty and Homelessness

TPC Feeding Ministry

In 2013, The Parks Church began serving McKinney’s first ongoing warm meal for neighbors experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Each Sunday afternoon at The Salvation Army, we share a meal and distribute groceries—including fresh produce and nonperishable items—to anyone in need.

Our Sunday gathering has become a hub for outreach—a consistent place of community, prayer, resources, and hope. It is where relationships are built, trust is formed, and needs are identified, allowing our City Renewal team to walk alongside individuals and families both tangibly and spiritually throughout the week.

Our Grocery Pick-Up Team collects donations from local partners and our monthly food drive. Through these provisions, we also support other local nonprofits and food-insecure families in nearby apartment communities, multiplying the impact of what God provides. There are opportunities to serve with our Feeding Ministry on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.

Streetside Showers

Based in McKinney and serving the DFW area, this ministry seeks to restore human dignity to the homeless community by providing a hot shower, personal hygiene care, clothing items, and a hot meal. The heart of this ministry has always been to be the hands and feet of Jesus by showing compassion for those that the world has seemingly forgotten. On Saturdays, Streetside serves our unhoused in McKinney, so this is a great way to peer in and see firsthand what this ministry is all about. They have a number of volunteer opportunities both on and offsite.

Shiloh Place

Shiloh Place ministers to single moms and their children who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. The purpose of this ministry is to come alongside and deeply invest in each individual over the course of their time at Shiloh Place, providing housing, childcare, education and skills needed to end the cycle of poverty for their family for generations to come.

Health

Hope Women’s Center

Hope Women’s Center is a non-profit medical clinic serving Collin County and the surrounding North Dallas area. They provide free medical services and accurate information on all options regarding unplanned pregnancy, including education on abortion, adoption, and parenting. All services provided are free and confidential and include pregnancy test and verification, ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment, options education, post abortion support, and community referral.

Common Good Medical

In response to the overwhelming need for accessible health care in the city, in 2017 we launched a free and charitable health clinic. Beyond providing physical healthcare, our hope is that patients would be cared for spiritually as the gospel is shared and applied. Volunteer opportunities exist in the following areas: nurses, spiritual care, Spanish translators, and administrative volunteers.

At-Risk Youth

TPC @ DAEP

The DAEP (District Alternative Education Program) serves students in grades 1st-12th in the M.I.S.D. They work diligently to provide high-quality instruction as well as encouragement to students, helping them adopt attitudes and behaviors that will help them excel when they return to their home campus. We partner with them by mentoring students on campus once a week and serving as the staff’s PTA.

Adoption & Foster Care and Special Needs

TPC Adoption & Foster Care

Because God graciously adopted us into his family through Jesus, we hope to reflect God's heart through adoption and foster care. Our ministry team prayerfully supports and equips families by walking alongside them through all stages of adoption and foster care. This includes those interested in adopting and/or fostering as well as those interested in playing a supporting role. We each have a vital part to play in the Biblical mandate to care for vulnerable children. If you’d like to get involved, let us know here.

Cornerstone Ranch

Cornerstone Ranch empowers adults with special needs to live an abundant life through their residential and day program. Their family-centered environment creates a safe place where independence thrives, character grows, and confidence is nurtured.

Embrace

Embrace connects willing hands with opportunities to serve children in foster, adoptive, and kinship care. By partnering with Embrace you’re helping children lingering in the foster care system find the love and stability of a forever family. You’re ministering to foster parents through respite care, support groups, and valuable training. You’re supporting teens who “age-out” of foster care without an adoptive family. When you volunteer or give to Embrace, you’re making a difference.
