Family Ministries

The responsibility for Christian discipleship resides first in each household: men and women, parents and children seeking God and his Kingdom not only in beliefs but also in deeds and habits.

Through our family and marriage ministries, we seek to strengthen spouses and parents for the unique task of discipleship in the home and to partner with parents in training up children to know and love Christ. We believe that a household that integrates into these ministries will be well supported in learning to practice the way of Jesus and live according to the values of his Kingdom.

TPC Kids

Littles (babies to preK)

It’s never too early to introduce a little heart to the life-altering love of Jesus. Each Sunday in both services, babies and toddlers ages 0-5 will be looked after, prayed for, and led through a time of age-appropriate worship and biblical teaching.

Nursing mothers may access the family room on the balcony level (room 317) during either service without missing worship.

Bigs (grades K-4)

Each Sunday in both services, kids grades K-4th worship together by singing, playing games, and learning from God’s Word.

We also encourage parents to bring their elementary-age children into the main service to worship as a family on occasion. Our children are learning how to love Jesus by watching us love Jesus.

Five:6 (grades 5-6)

Fifth and sixth grades are an important transitional time for children coming into adolescence. Besides different fellowship events throughout the year, these kids worship together during the 10:45 am service in the main auditorium then head down to the Commons for a time of small group teaching and discussion.

TPC Youth

Many of us know how formative 7th-12th grade was for us. We recognize this and want to ensure that our students are loved and shown the wonderful grace of the gospel in Jesus Christ.

TPC Youth gather weekly at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays at the Commons to worship God, dive into the Scriptures, and develop community. This is a time to celebrate what God has done, is doing, and what He will continue to do in our students’ lives.

TPC Marriage

Healthy marriages reflect the love Christ has for his church and so bear witness to the gospel. Reality, however, doesn’t always match our expectations. In addition to the care that comes in Praxis Groups, we support marriages with marital and pre-marital counseling as needed and host an annual marriage retreat.

We also recognize that marriages sometimes need a little extra support. To that end, we regularly host Re|Engage classes and encourage applicable spouses to join a family support group.

Re|Engage: Whether your marriage needs to be reignited or completely resurrected, re|engage provides a safe place for you and your spouse to reconnect.

Blended Families: Families with children from previous relationships face unique issues. You don’t have to do that alone.

Foster & Adoption: While fostering and/or adopting is a beautiful thing, it is also taxing and requires special care and support.

Life Stage Groups

Outside our regular means of formation, there is great value in gathering to worship and fellowship with those in the same life stage as well. Much of our church can be geared towards families since that mirrors the demographics of McKinney, but we don’t want to neglect these vital — and growing — communities either.

Join the TPC Young Adults, Engaged or Newly Marrieds, or TPC Senior Adults groups in Church Center to stay connected.
